About Zipper

The concept of the slide fastener was first introduced by American Whitcomb L. Judson in 1893. However, it was Swedish engineer Gideon Sundback who perfected the design in 1913, creating the first modern, reliable zipper. The name “zipper” was later coined in 1923 by the B.F. Goodrich Company when they adopted the fastener for their rubber overshoes.
